SARA MITCHELL
Sara Mitchell is a communications professional with experience in broadcast journalism, digital media, production and public relations. She joined Solinity as Communications Director and Client Relations manager in 2017 where she directs the communications needs of clients as well as the parent brand of Solinity Services, an industry leader in senior living development and management.
With her experience in social media management, digital content creation and website production, Sara directs the marketing and internet marketing division for Solinity and its clients where her team manages daily internet marketing, social and digital management, and correspondence of teams. She oversees the communication platforms used by clients and works alongside all parties to keep projects and communities moving forward. The internet marketing division of also serves clients in the media relations/press release realm as Solinity strives to tell the great stories within the senior housing industry.
Prior to joining Solinity in 2017, Sara was a host and reporter for Knoxville’s CBS news affiliate WVLT-TV. She was the sideline reporter and social media manager for East Tennessee’s Rivalry Thursday and H3 Playoffs high school football along with a variety of other news segments covering topics of fitness, health, entertainment, and local news.
Sara has modeled for the nationwide clothing company Altar’d State, SHEEX, Val’s Boutique and Power Systems as well as the featured Lexus of Knoxville Celebrity Driver. She also had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to act in the film “The Last Movie Star” (formally Dog Years) starring Burt Reynolds and Modern Family’s Ariel Winter.
Sara earned her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she was the UT Athletic Department reporter and an SEC-ESPN Network basketball sideline reporter. In her spare time, she enjoys running and competing in various races and has recently begun cycling. She serves on the media and production team at her church and volunteers with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of East Tennessee, Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, and Pedal for Alzheimer’s.
At its inception of the inaugural “Pedal for Pat” cycling event where a team of cyclists pedaled 1,098-miles, in honor of legendary coach Pat Summitt’s NCAA career victories, to spread awareness and raise funds for Alzheimer’s research and education, Sara was the volunteer media and communications manager. As a result of the success of that event, the team presented $100,000 to The Pat Summit Foundation. In October 2018, Sara directed the second Pedal for Alzheimer’s 1,098-mile charity ride that benefitted the Alzheimer’s Research Initiative at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She is proud to serve on the board of directors and continue to give back to this worthy cause.
